Japan’s Innovative AR Learning Program Using HADO Wins Minister’s Award

meleap Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Koji Fukuda) announces that Shikokuchuo City’s initiative, “Next-generation learning and school management through AR learning materials linked with generative AI,” has been awarded the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award at the National ICT Education Mayors’ Summit / 8th Japan ICT Education Award.
This award recognizes the educational impact of using AR-based learning tools, including HADO, in physical education classes and extracurricular club activities.
Use of HADO in Schools
At Kawanoe Elementary School in Shikokuchuo City,
HADO has been introduced in PE classes and school clubs.
The goal is to create an inclusive learning environment
where all students can participate actively,
regardless of their physical abilities.
Positive Changes in Students
Since the introduction of HADO,
schools have reported clear positive changes
in both student behavior and mindset.
Some students who previously hesitated to attend school
have begun to say:
“I want to go to school because it’s HADO day.”
By contributing to their teams and being recognized by classmates,
students gain confidence and a sense of achievement.
Growth in Communication Skills
HADO also supports the development of communication skills.
Because the game requires discussion and teamwork to succeed,
students naturally practice
dialogue, cooperation, and problem-solving.
Teachers have reported improvements in
self-expression, collaboration,
and proactive participation in class activities.
AR Sports as an Educational Tool
Through the use of AR sports in education,
Shikokuchuo City is presenting
a new model of learning.
This model combines
physical activity,
digital technology,
and social interaction.
HADO continues to grow not only as an AR sport,
but also as an innovative educational solution
that supports inclusive and engaging learning environments.
