HADO, the next-generation AR sport developed by meleap, was recently featured on OBS News, an independent terrestrial television broadcaster serving the Gyeonggi and Incheon regions of South Korea.

The report focused on the 2026 Hwaseong Special City Youth AR Dodgeball Tournament, highlighting HADO as an emerging form of digital sports that combines augmented reality technology with physical activity.

More than 2,000 students from 25 elementary and middle schools in the Hwaseong area participated in the event, with 32 teams and approximately 100 players advancing to the preliminary rounds.

During the tournament, students used HADO’s AR technology to launch virtual energy balls, dodge attacks, communicate with teammates, and develop strategies in real time.

A New Generation of Sports for Young People

OBS News introduced HADO as a futuristic sport that allows players to experience digital technology while actively moving their bodies.

Unlike traditional digital games, HADO requires players to physically move throughout the arena, dodge incoming attacks, coordinate with teammates, and make split-second strategic decisions.

The report also highlighted the physical intensity of HADO, noting that even a short match can leave players out of breath despite the absence of a physical ball.

Choi Hyun, CEO of HADO K-Route, emphasized that HADO naturally encourages young players to move their bodies and exercise while enjoying the experience as a game.

Connecting Sports, Technology, and Youth

The report also featured Hwaseong Special City’s efforts to expand opportunities for young people to experience digital sports and emerging technologies.

Through initiatives such as the Youth AR Dodgeball Tournament, HADO is demonstrating how sports can evolve by combining physical activity, digital technology, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

The coverage also introduced the 2026 HADO Summer Cup, bringing together young HADO players from across South Korea.

As AR technology continues to reshape entertainment and sports, HADO is creating new opportunities for people around the world to experience a new kind of sport — where the physical and digital worlds come together.

Watch the OBS News report to see HADO in action and discover how young players in South Korea are experiencing the future of sports.
