HADO Featured at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair in Greece, with Japan as the Honored Country

HADO was featured at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF 2026) in Thessaloniki, Greece, where Japan participated as the Honored Country. Presented in Pavilion 16 alongside Greek HADO team ZeroLag, HADO introduced its AR sports experience to visitors from Greece and around the world. During the event, Mr. Takaaki Nemoto, Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan in Greece, also experienced HADO firsthand.

Japanese Embassy Official in Greece Experiences HADO

During the event, HADO welcomed Mr. Takaaki Nemoto, Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan in Greece, to the HADO booth.

After receiving an introduction to HADO, Mr. Nemoto stepped onto the field and experienced the sport firsthand, including launching energy balls and taking part in the AR sports experience.

He also watched the Greek HADO team ZeroLag in action, experiencing the speed, excitement, and strategic elements of HADO up close.

HADO is an AR sport that combines physical movement with digital technology. Players wear headsets and arm sensors and compete by using energy balls and shields in team-based matches.

Through HADO, players can experience the excitement of physical sports while interacting with digital elements in a real-world environment.

Japan as the Honored Country at the 90th TIF

At the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF 2026), Japan participated as the Honored Country.

The Japan Pavilion was located in Pavilion 13 under the theme “TAKUMI,” showcasing Japanese technology, industry, and culture. According to the official TIF information, Japanese companies and organizations from a wide range of fields participated, including technology, innovation, automotive, energy, healthcare, and tourism.

Participating companies and organizations included Astellas Pharma, Daiichi Sankyo, Daikin, Fujifilm, H.I.S. Dream Travel, JTI, Konica Minolta, Mitsubishi Electric, Toyota, and Weathernews, among others.

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), Japan-Greece Society, and the Honorary Consulate General of Japan in Thessaloniki also took part in the Japan-related program.

Alongside these companies and organizations, HADO was featured as one of the event’s special activities in the official TIF program. HADO was presented in Pavilion 16.

A Place for Japan-Greece Exchange

Japan’s participation in TIF 2026 brought together not only companies and organizations, but also members of Japan’s parliament.

According to the Embassy of Japan in Greece, the Japanese delegation included Mr. Minoru Kiuchi, Minister in Charge of Japan’s Growth Strategy, as well as members of the House of Representatives Taro Kono, Masahiko Komura, Taro Honda, Makoto Tsuchida, and Daisuke Nishino, and member of the House of Councillors Kazuhiro Fujii.

The official TIF program also featured talks and panel discussions involving Japanese representatives, covering topics including Japanese industry, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and digital technologies.

Against this backdrop of exchange between Japan and Greece across business, industry, technology, and culture, HADO was introduced to visitors at TIF, providing an opportunity to experience the sport firsthand.

It was also a meaningful opportunity for HADO to welcome Mr. Takaaki Nemoto from the Embassy of Japan in Greece and introduce him to the sport.

HADO Continues to Grow in Greece

Even before its participation in TIF 2026, HADO has been growing its presence in Greece, with local players and teams taking part in tournaments and experiential events.

TIF 2026 provided an opportunity to build on these existing activities in Greece and introduce HADO to an even wider audience.

HADO will continue working with local partners and players in Greece and around the world to create new sports experiences through AR technology and expand the HADO community globally.
